Hannes Ackermann started with freestyle motocross in 2001. 2007 the FMX professional became the first winner of the German Freestyle Motocross Championship Series and dialed his first backflip on dirt. The following year, the Thuringian defend his German championship title and thus received various invitations to IFMXF competitions. 2009 Hannes went with almost the entire NIGHT of the JUMPS / FIM Freestyle MX World Championship series and landed in ninth place in the overall standings. In 2011, he won his third title in the German FMX Championship.
2012 was Hannes Ackermann’s most successful year in his young freestyle motocross career. The FMX professional toured with the best extreme athletes as part of the Nitro Circus Live through Europe. In August Hannes debuted at the Red Bull X -Fighters track in Munich. In early November, he flew in X Freestyle Night in Bratislava to fourth place and Hannes rocked at the NIGHT of the JUMPS / FIM Freestyle MX World Championship. With new tricks like the airplane, Hart Attack backflip or the Seatgrab Indy flip he jumped 2012 in seven finals and ended up in 5th place overall in the FMX World Championship. In addition, he also reached fifth place in the FMX European Championship.
